I’m always trying to find new ways to make a Scentsy Buddy display for my larger events. A few months ago, while scrolling through Pinterest, I came across a great idea that got me thinking. Well it just so happens that I have a good friend who’s super handy and can make just about anything. His name is Mike and I gave him a call with my idea for a new Scentsy Buddy display.
Cincinnati Baby & Beyond Expo
With the Cincinnati Baby & Beyond Expo coming up, I wanted something fun to draw attention to our super cute, scented stuffed animals, our limited edition Scentsy Buddies. There will be lots of new mommies, babies, kids, families, all looking for some helpful tips, ideas, fun, and conversation. I’m super excited to share our Scentsy products and maybe even talk to some Mommies that want the flexibility of working from home.
Scentsy Buddy Zoo Display for Events
Since I really wanted a new Scentsy Buddy Zoo display for events, I gave my friend Mike the dimensions I thought would be perfect for my table display. I had him make it 16″ deep, 18″ wide and 2.5′ tall (so I can put the Buddy boxes in there if I wanted). About a week after I gave him the measurements, he brought it over in it’s raw form. I stained it a dark walnut color and since it’s a bit tall, I made a couple of burlap swings for these cute little buddy friends to sit in.
Put Me In The Zoo
My husband’s favorite book as a toddler was “Put Me In the Zoo” by Robert Lopshire. I started thinking about that book and the fun touch it would add with the painted the words at the top, “Buddy Zoo”. I think it turned out super cute and can’t wait to display it this weekend!

Do you need some August home party themes? I have some fun ideas and tips to share! First, let’s take a look at all the fun, unique August holidays:
I didn’t add the holiday dates because depending on the calendar cycle, some will change. What really matters though is that you can build a home party theme around these ideas.
August Home Party Games
So let’s look at a few of these August holidays and think about some August home party games -LET’S UNDO BORING! and bring back that child-like wonder. With a little pre-planning, home parties can be so fun. People don’t want to be “sold” to, they want to get together for a purpose. Based on these fun August holidays, let your host pick a theme and go for it! Here are a few ideas (visit my Pinterest August Home Party Ideas board to see more)
National Watermelon Day:
How about some Whacky Watermelon Bowling, a Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, Vodka Infused Watermelon, making watermelon bunting decorations, Watermelon Jicama Mint Salad, mini watermelon cakes – so many great ideas for National Watermelon Day!
Aviation Day would be fun to throw an aviation party! Make paper airplanes and have a flying contest (complete with a runway), make fun airplane invitations, play pin the propeller on the airplane, jet fuel punch, serve in-flight snacks -BRING THE FUN with some Aviation Day ideas.
National Trail Mix Day:
National Trail Mix Day seems like it would be tricky, but how about a Trail Mix Bar where everyone can bring an ingredient to share, or pre-make a variety of mixes to let everyone find their favorite. If you’re a Scentsy Consultant, what a great way to talk about the Disney Incentive Trip you earned with a Disney Trail Mix -guests would love that!

Post Cards to Generate Ideas
I just ordered some post cards to generate ideas for my party hosts. I’ll be giving a post card to them so they can decide on a holiday to build a party theme around. You can find all kinds of great ideas on Pinterest and Google too -just think outside of the box, and you’re hosts and customers will have a great time.
Create a business brochure for your Home Party or Direct Sales business. I’ve seen some fun examples of business brochures, but had yet to sit down and create my own. A few months ago, I was in Oklahoma with a few friends having a “work” day -you know, some work, lots of chat and collaborating. Using some of their examples, I finally sat down and created my own business brochure.
Extend your Elevator Pitch with a Business Brochure
An elevator pitch basically defines who you are, or your brand, in about 30 seconds -about how long you have to strike up a conversation in an elevator. A business card is great, but when you create a business brochure, you give potential customers and recruits a memorable story and the beginning of a potential long-term, loyal business relationship. A business brochure will extend the elevator pitch.
Create a Business Brochure for Customers
When you create a business brochure for customers, you’ll want to include important details of you business. What are your products? What is your mission? What is your story? Why do you find passion in your company? I love adding my brochure in my customer product bags, along with a Scentsy sample.
Create a Business Brochure for your Possibility Packets
Create a business brochure for your possibility packets to let potential new team members know what to expect. It’s a good idea to include reasons to join your company, mission statements, training opportunities, your story, your accomplishments and goals, and of course your contact information. It’s also a good idea to include a nice photo (professional).
Add QR Codes to your Business Brochure
There are many online QR code generators -just do a Google search. If your company has a specific video that will help tell more of the story, create a QR code and add it to your business brochure. I finally added my own Scentsy story to my YouTube channel, so the next round of my brochures will include a QR code with that link. If you have an online catalog, create a QR code that will direct to that link.
How to Create a Business Brochure
Some computers or printers have software programs built in to create business tools like business cards and brochures. If you can’t find what you need, try looking online. I’ve used Vista Print templates, but there’s also others out there. Most templates are easy to use, the most time consuming thing will be writing content and placement.
People are busy, we all have 100 things running through our brains -especially when out an about running errands. If you create a business brochure, and have it ready at a moment’s notice, your potential customers and team members will appreciate it. Make it professional, include nice photos, and think of what you would want if you were to receive a brochure from someone. It will be a bit time consuming to create, but it will be worth the effort.
Where to leave your Business Brochure:
Scope out community bulletin boards -laundry mats, restaurants, gas stations and mechanic shops, libraries, etc. Ask if you can add your business brochure. If you do catalog parties, or Basket Parties (as a Scentsy Consultant), then these brochures are great due to the limited contact you’ll have with these new customers. Do you have any other ideas? What would you use a Business Brochure for?
A while back I created some Scentsy Layers Laundry images, and with my new update, the page was lost. I’ve had some requests to repost so these are for you to use. Just add your information and your good to go. In case you’re wondering, the W2 is short for Wash Wednesday -a theme I was using for social media. In the meantime, if you’ve never heard of Scentsy Laundry products, you’ve been missing out! Make laundry fun again. Seriously, you’ll want to do laundry EVERY DAY!
I’ve been working on some Scentsy team recognition post cards to send out as my team members promote. From a Scentsy Escential Consultant, up to a Scentsy Director, and all the way to a Scentsy SuperStar Director, recognition is important.
Scentsy Team Recognition Post Cards:
I’ll be adding more Scentsy Team recognition post cards ideas, so check back often. I like sending post cards because they don’t cost much to mail, and they’re easy to include if you do any recognition or promotion giveaways. I have a category called, “Scentsy Success Tips”. I’m excited to share these helpful ideas and images with you. Here’s to a SCENTSY SPIRIT, and a successful Scentsy business. [Read more…]
